Call for SUBMISSIONS

The International Subarachnoid Haemorrhage (ISAH) Conference invites submission of abstracts for presentation at ISAH 2026, to be held 17–20 November 2026 in Sydney, Australia. Abstracts are welcomed from all disciplines contributing to the understanding and care of aneurysmal subarachnoid haemorrhage (aSAH) and unruptured intracranial aneurysms.
We invite you to be part of this conference by applying to present.

Scope
​
Submissions are encouraged across the full continuum of research and care, including:

Pre-clinical and translational research: animal models, molecular mechanisms, immunology, and pathophysiology.
-
Clinical and observational research: epidemiology, trials (all phases), prevention, prognostic modelling, and precision medicine.
-
Endovascular and microsurgical approaches: endovascular and microsurgical innovations to both ruptured and unruptured aneurysms.
-
Acute and critical care: anaesthesia, neurocritical care, monitoring, neuroprotection, and management of complications.
-
Allied health and rehabilitation: multidisciplinary recovery and outcomes.
-
Lived experience and consumer perspectives: qualitative research, patient-led studies, and equity in care delivery.
We are also keen to encourage trainee-led submissions as building the next generation of researchers and clinicians is a key goal of this conference.

Submission Portal
If this is your first time submitting an abstract for the Conference, please click on the Submit an Abstract button below. Then click on ‘Begin here’ button in the submission site before being able to create your submission.
This will prompt you to enter your email address and create a password for your profile. You will then need to complete your Contact Information and upload your biography and photo. Once complete click on the ‘proceed’ button. After creating your profile, you will have access to submit, edit and withdraw any of your submission(s).
Note. If you have already created a profile, you will only need to enter your email address and password and click ‘Sign in’
Please remember that submitting an abstract does not automatically register you as a delegate. Presenters who fail to register by the due date risk having their presentation removed from the program.

Guidelines and submission instructions
Please read the following instructions on how to prepare and submit for International Conference on Subarachnoid Haemorrhage.
Please note:

Hard copy will not be accepted. Must be submitted via the online portal only.

All abstracts must be prepared in English

All authors accepted to deliver a session must register to attend the Conference .

The submitting author (if different to the presenting author) will be the one linked to the abstract and will receive all relevant information via email. It is the submitting author’s exclusive responsibility to ensure that all relevant emails are passed onto the presenting author and any other relevant parties.
All accepted abstracts will be:

Published exactly as they are submitted

Appear on the website

Made available to conference delegates
Selected abstracts will be:

Published in the neurocritical care journal

Submitting your abstract

There are no restrictions on the number of submissions you may submit or on the number of submissions you may present.

The deadline for electronic submissions for abstracts is 31 May 2026 at 23:59, AEST.
The online portal offers a text-based submission form where you will be required to enter the information regarding your abstract, such as title, authors, biography, etc.
Submitting an abstract is a multi-step process, and you should have a copy of your abstract file on hand so that you can copy/paste the information easily into the text-based submission form fields.

STEP 1: Terms and Conditions
​
Read the terms and conditions for submitting an abstract and provide permission on behalf of all authors and affiliations associated with the abstract submission, for the abstract to appear on the Conference website if it is accepted for presentation and the neurocritical care journal is one of the selected abstracts to appear.

Author approval - You are required to confirm that the submission has been approved by all authors.

Permission to publish - You are required to provide permission on behalf of all authors and affiliations associated with the abstract submission, for the abstract to appear in the Neurocritical Care Journal, the conference website, and in printed material if it is accepted for presentation.

Please acknowledge that your abstract will only be accepted into the final program if you have a valid registration
STEP 2: Categorisation

Presentation Type – select the type of presentation you’d like to present. Please advise if you do not want to be considered for a Oral Presentation.
The program committee will place you in any presentation type depending on program space, balance and abstract quality.
Themes – Choose a theme that best describes your submission

STEP 3: Abstract title (≤25 words)

Your title should be concise and descriptive but long enough to clearly indicate the nature of the abstract
STEP 4: Authors & affiliations
​
Your details as the main contact will automatically appear as an author. You will need to begin by checking your details are correct, add an affiliation and ticking if you are a presenter. Once it has been completed, you can add any additional authors and affiliations.
Please enter all authors in the order they should appear in the head of the abstract. If you (the Contact Author) are not the Presenter on a submission, you will need to provide contact information for the Presenter.

* Affiliations that are in the dropdown box and not selected will not be displayed
* Please ensure the spelling of their names and affiliations (if applicable) is correct.
* Please consult with your co-authors on how they would like their names to appear.
* Provide an email contact for each co-author to confirm their contribution to the presentation

References: references are not required. If you wish to include them, they must be in-cluded in the body of your abstract and included in the 250 word count.

Once your submission is complete, please read your abstract in full to ensure all details are correct.

Ensure your abstract is print-ready i.e. if successful, the session information will appear in conference collateral as it has been submitted in the abstract.
STEP 6: Confirm the following items for your submission

Ethics and Governance statement confirming the relevant human/animal research ethics approval (including committee name and approval number), or justification for exemption/waiver, and whether informed consent was obtained (or not required)

Has this abstract been previously published or presented in full in a peer-reviewed journal or at another scientific meeting?

Conflict – All authors must disclose all relationships or interests that could influence or bias the work. Although an author may not feel there are conflicts, disclosure of relationships and interests that might appear to represent a potential conflict of interest affords a more transparent process, leading to an accurate and objective assessment of the work. Awareness of real or perceived conflicts of interest is not meant to imply that a financial relationship with an organisation that sponsored the research or compensation for consultancy work is inappropriate.
STEP 7: Review & Complete

Once complete you will be taken to a summary page to review all the details you have entered. Please ensure you click ‘Submit’ in order for your submission to be entered.
You will be sent a confirmation email.

Abstract acceptance/rejection notifications

You will be notified electronically of the acceptance/rejection of your abstract week commencing 31 July 2026.

This notification will include the type of presentation if accepted.

Only the corresponding author will be notified. It is the responsibility of the corresponding author to notify all co-authors.
Abstract Review
All abstracts will be peer-reviewed by the ISAH Scientific Committee for scientific quality, originality, and relevance.
Abstracts that are within the scope and requirements will be considered for poster presentation by default. Posters will be presented in digital format (portrait orientation) using screens located in the exhibition area of the conference venue. Additional information will be provided to successful submissions.
A limited number of high-scoring abstracts will be invited for oral presentation during the conference program. The other accepted abstracts will be invited for poster presentation.
Publication
With author consent, all accepted posters and abstracts will also be displayed online at subarachnoid.org.
Selected abstracts chosen by the scientific committee will also be published in the Neurocritical Care Journal as part of a special series of articles and abstracts that will be released contemporaneously with the conference.
Researchers wishing to develop their work into a full manuscript for publication in this special series may submit an Expression of Interest (EOI) to the Scientific Committee. All manuscripts will remain subject to the journal’s standard editorial and peer-review processes.
